Greetings, and thanks for visiting with us here at InterSense.

As you browse through our website, we hope you’ll sense the breadth and depth of our “Human-in-the-Loop” inertial tracking expertise, a core competence that has enabled us to become a premier provider of motion management technology.  InterSense has offered the core technology required to precisely track the position and orientation of people and objects since our founding in 1996 and uses that information to enable people to interact with a variety of virtual and real-world environments.  In fact, we pioneered the development of miniaturized motion sensors that are small enough to fit unobtrusively within highly dynamic applications — inside tools or weapons for training simulation, on clothing or skin for medical research or sports analysis, in hand-held devices for entertainment, research and design, or in head-mounted displays for simulated and real-world operational guidance.

With an emerging focus on four key application segments — Simulation & Training, Design & Research, Operational Guidance and Fitness & Entertainment — InterSense continues to increase revenue, add customers, launch new products and implement continuous design and production improvements that have actually lowered costs while improving quality.  These initiatives have resulted in sustained double-digit annual revenue growth and a strong financial position.

Our ability to track motion in virtually any environment enables us to serve a diverse range of users across a host of applications.  Leveraging a multitude of patents in inertial sensing, InterSense’s robust technology serves as the cornerstone of many military simulation and training programs, as well as a key component of operational applications in oil and gas exploration, virtual prototyping, medical imaging, psychological research, entertainment and sports training, video/film production and manufacturing/industrial control.  The common thread in all these applications is “Human-in-the-Loop” motion tracking for the purpose of digitally linking an individual to a real or simulated world in order to improve human performance.

Since the motion sensing requirements of military applications often go far beyond the demands of private sector applications, we can develop advanced technology that is the ideal solution for design engineers, scientists, OEMs and SIs looking to solve complex, high-value problems and then migrate that technology into a broad range of less demanding commercial applications at attractive price points and form factors.  

Commercializing leading edge technology requires a deployment and growth strategy that is just as forward looking.  To this end, the InterSense executive team is actively pursuing global partnerships that will not only strengthen our ability to build quality products and broaden our range of offerings, but will extend these capabilities in new directions.  We are also expanding our R&D and business development resources in order to further accelerate our growth.

We continue to build on our strong military pedigree, marked by long-standing relationships with BAE, Boeing, Link Simulation & Training/L3 Communications, Lockheed Martin, Raydon and Rockwell Collins, as well as successful installations with the US Army, Air Force and Navy and the Royal Navy.  We also enjoy a healthy industrial and commercial business base, serving customers such as EADS, General Motors, Honeywell, Proctor & Gamble, NorskHydro, Schlumberger and Sony through a global network of more than 85 resale and integration partners.
