Michael Sheehan
Michael (Mike) Sheehan is President and Chief Executive Officer of Thales Defense & Security, Inc., and has over 35 years of industry experience.
Prior to working for Thales Defense & Security, Inc., Mr. Sheehan worked at Cobham, where he was responsible for the operation and management of the company’s avionics strategic business area. Prior to Cobham, Mr. Sheehan spent 24 years working for BAE Systems, Northrop Grumman, and DRS Technologies in various senior management level engineering, program management, business development, and general management positions.
Mr. Sheehan earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University, a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Columbia University.
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Brian Miller
Brian Miller is Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Thales Defense & Security, Inc. He is responsible for all aspects of Thales’ finance and accounting operations, leads the Quality organization, and serves as the company’s Compliance Officer and Management Quality Representative.
He joined Thales Defense & Security, Inc. as Director of Finance in 2010, and was named Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2015. Mr. Miller came to Thales from DRS Technologies where he worked for five years in finance/business operations management at DRS Signal Solutions. He began his career as part of the Financial Leadership Development program at Lockheed Martin, and spent seven years at the business area and headquarters levels performing a variety of roles.
Mr. Miller earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Business Administration in Finance and Economics from the University of Notre Dame.
Vice President, Visionix
Robert (Bob) Atac
Robert (Bob) Atac is Vice President of the Visionix business area for Thales Defense & Security, Inc., previously Thales Visionix, Inc. He is responsible for managing the organization’s helmet mounted display and motion tracking business and operations in response to military, government and commercial customer requirements.
Prior to his work at Thales and Visionix, Mr. Atac was the founder and President of Flight Visions, Inc. Flight Visions began as a head-up display (HUD) provider in 1986 and grew to provide full cockpit suites, including multi-function displays, controls, radios, and more. Flight Visions was purchased by CMC Electronics in 2002, and Mr. Atac was Vice President of Military Aviation before leaving in late 2004. Leveraging his extensive engineering background, Mr. Atac has written many technical publications and has been awarded a number of patents.
He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, and a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Vice President of Contracts, and Trade & Legal Compliance
Glen Parker
Glen Parker is Vice President of Program Management, Legal, Contracts and Trade Compliance for Thales Defense & Security, Inc. He is responsible for the organization’s performance on existing programs, and leading the company’s legal, contracts, and trade compliance divisions.
With more than 30 years of experience in the radio communications and defense acquisition industry, Mr. Parker began his career providing systems engineering and acquisition management support to the US Air Force/ESC for security systems and communications equipment development and procurement.
Mr. Parker earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University.
Vice President, Engineering
Doug Bishop
Doug Bishop is Vice President and Chief Technical Officer for Thales Defense & Security, Inc. In this position, he is responsible for all product design and development activities, including strategic and technical leadership of systems, RF/analog hardware, digital hardware, embedded software, digital signal processing, and mechanical engineering disciplines, as well as information technology.
He joined Thales (then Racal Communications, Inc.) in 1989 and has served the company in a number of increasingly responsible executive positions to include Director of Engineering (1995 to 1998), Vice President of Engineering (1998 to 2006), and most recently, Vice President & Chief Technical Officer, Engineering and Information Technology.
Mr. Bishop currently serves as an officer on the company’s Board of Directors, and is a member of the University of Maryland Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Advisory Board, the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), and Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (BSEE) from the University of Maryland.
Vice President of Human Resources and Ethics Officer
Stacey Bostock
Stacey Bostock is Vice President of Human Resources for Thales Defense & Security, Inc. In this role, Ms. Bostock oversees compensation strategies and initiatives, employee rewards and recognition, internal communications, professional development, and employee engagement. She also serves as the company’s Ethics Officer, in charge of the Ethics and Compliance programs.
Prior to this role, Ms. Bostock was the Director/Manager of Human Resources, and before that was the Senior Staff Accountant at Thales. Early on, Ms. Bostock worked as a Finance Contracts Manager for Thompson Reuters, and as the Assistant Controller and Corporate Benefits Plan Administrator for Marriott International, Inc.
She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management at Columbia Union College.
